AFPMDD

Women’s Association for the Environment Protection and Sustainable Development (AFPMDD) is a national, non-profit, non-governmental, apolitical organization, registered at the Ministry of Justice with no. 3549 of March 22, 2006, which operates in the Republic of Moldova. We organize activities aimed at increasing the efficiency of the educational process among civil society, governmental and nongovernmentalorganizations, regarding sustainable development, environmental protection and rational use of natural resources. The Association contributes to promotion of sustainable development in the social and economic areas; helps to develop cooperation between Moldova and other countries in the environmental protection field.

“Development of the Camenca River Basin Management Plan” Project

We contributed to the empowerment and behaviour of riverside communities towards the small rivers of the Camenca river basin by developing love towards nature, encouraging environmental care actions, informing about the value of natural and cultural heritage, by conservation and enhancement of the local landscapes, natural resources, natural monuments, etc.

Expediția desfășurată în cadrul proiectului

“Implementation of the Programme of Measures for the Camenca River Basin Management Plan” Project

Achievements: Development of the Camenca Sub-basin Committee, support to the Technical Secretariat. Inventory and mapping of point sources of pollution (dumps) and stable sources of supply to the river basin of Camenca hydrographic network. Afforestation of approx. 9 ha of riparian strip on the banks of the Glodeanca river, as well as the implementation of 6 environmental projects by schools of the region.

“AGROECOLOGY – Opportunities and Prospects for Rural Communities” Project

In partnership with Danu, Cobani, Balatina, Hîjdieni and Viișoara town halls of Glodeni district, 13 ha of riverside strip were planted along Glodeanca and Camenca rivers, creating an ecological corridor, which will connect the area with “Pădurea Domnească” reserve, forming a local ecological network. Young nature lovers from 10 schools participated in the “Schools for a green future” educational programme.
